small fingers stretch out trusting
toothless smile with joy abounding
a kissable head with wispy hairs
so frail yet so strong
i hold him close
rest my cheek against his head
wonder at this power
pulling love and care at will
he bounces high
never doubting my strength
chortling as I entertain
my face his world
